Responsibilities:
 

WE has a tremendous opportunity for a key team member position in San Francisco as a public relations Account Manager making significant contributions to an expanding account a for global enterprise technology client. This role will report to the general manager, senior vice president of the San Francisco office and partner senior members ot the Technology Sector at the agency.

 

Client and Business Management

  • Implement the strategic communications plan to advance the client’s brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences
  • Act as an effective advisor to senior clients and develop long term partnerships effectively communicating recommendations and insights to advance their business
  • Foster on-going, valuable relationships with key media and influencers, serving as a critical connection between industry thoughts leaders and client stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of the trends in how businesses communicate in multiple commercial environments and advising clients on where they need to focus their resources selling into enterprise clients
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of enterprise customers, B2B environments, and cloud computing. Includes understanding of the enterprise, developer, and IT audiences
  • Integrate communications strategy with wide range of communications channels and infuse insights gathered via corporate program in larger communications efforts

Agency and Team Leadership

  • Oversee several junior team members and ensure the team provides high-quality integrated communications services
  • Sustain the agency’s growth by attracting and developing people through coaching, mentoring, and active team/San Francisco office leadership
  • Collaborate and partner with other business leads to integrate & drive best results
  • Contribute to resource allocation across team including staffing/hiring/onboarding new talent and cross-training

Influencer Engagement

• Build & grow relationships with key, senior level media/influencers

• Identify global, digital & social communication trends; educate clients/agency

• Conceive & tell strategic stories apart from client business milestones

• Manage junior level staff on global influencer processes & trends

 

Digital & Social Media Strategy/Execution

• Identify & drive digital/social media strategies; either standalone or as elements of communication plans

• Articulate emerging media platforms & if/how they meet client’s business needs

• Lead clients in understanding the importance of social media engagement

 

New Business Development

• Assess validity and value of new & organic growth opportunities

• Serve as project manager in preparation & delivery of organic growth or new business proposal content & in-person pitch meetings

• Share industry POV and strong understanding of shifts and opportunities in the competitive agency landscape

• Inform, educate & influence existing and potential future clients directly on WE value and positioning relative to competing agencies

 

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or similar applicable field is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in PR – in an agency and/or in-house environment
  • Minimum of 3 years integrated communications management & execution experience, including developing plans, launch strategies, pitching stories, negotiation, budget responsibility, media training, messaging & creative tactical ideas
  • Extensive communications experience in the B2B technology space, ideally in an agency environment
  • Deep understanding of wide range of communications channels, tools, and vehicles spanning paid, owned, and earned platforms including social platforms

  • A sense of urgency, the ability to deal with ambiguous situations, a strategic view but also willing to roll up your sleeves and dig in to the work to drive impact

  • Highly collaborative, diplomatic, ability to influence others, persuasive approach

  • Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines

  • Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations, Travel: may on occasion need to travel
